N.L. oil refinery sold to produce renewable fuels
An idled oil refinery in Come By Chance, N.L., has sold to Texas-based, Cresta Fund Management and will be rebranded to Braya Renewable Fuels. The facility is expected to produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel by mid-2022.
BP plans green hydrogen plant in northeast England
BP announced Monday it plans to set up a large-scale green hydrogen production plant in northeast England. The facility is expected to produce 60 MWe (megawatt electrical input) of so-called “green” hydrogen, which is derived from renewable sources, by 2025.
Iceland’s cabinet raises climate goal as glaciers melt
Iceland’s new government decided to stop granting oil exploration licenses around Iceland and upgraded its climate target to a 55% reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030, compared with 2005. It already aimed for carbon neutrality by 2040.
