Electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions company Hypercharge Networks Corp. (HC-X) has launched an energy storage and management initiative named Hypercorp Energy Solutions, a move the Vancouver-based company says will capitalize on a growing sector.

Pattern Energy acquires Cordelio’s renewables portfolio

U.S.-based Pattern Energy has entered into an agreement to acquire Cordelio Power, which has a renewables portfolio of 1.5 gigawatts across the U.S. and Canada. Cordelio is wholly owned by CPP Investments, which is also a majority shareholder of Pattern Energy.

Micro solar farms aim to repurpose oil and gas well sites

Just outside of Taber, Alta., Keith Hirsche’s RenuWell Project is piloting repurposing retired oil and gas well sites into small solar farms. Hirsche said that about 17,000 abandoned sites in Alberta would be ideal for RenuWell’s micro solar grids.

Clearlight Energy announces leadership transition

Oakville, Ont.-based Clearlight Energy has announced the appointment of Carolyne Murff as chief executive officer, effective Jan. 24. Murff succeeds Jeff Norman, who spent much of his career at Clearlight's predecessor company Algonquin Power & Utilities.

Nordex lands 508 MW Canada wind turbine orders

Germany-based Nordex has received new wind turbine orders totalling 508 megawatts (MW) in Canada. The orders involve the supply and installation of 73 turbines to be delivered in 2027 and 2028, with each contract accompanied by long-term servicing agreements.
