Oil and gas producer Strathcona Resources Ltd. (SCR-T) has announced a unique oilsands carbon-capture deal with the Canada Growth Fund (CGF) worth up to $2 billion, which will result in the carbon being captured and stored at its production sites.

Airex Series D to expand biocoal, biochar production capacity

Airex Energy has closed the first tranche of funding for a Series D round that will be spent on developing the Montreal-based company’s biocoal and biochar projects. The funding is led by French water management company SUEZ Group.

Recurrent signs PPA with GKN Automotive for project in Spain

Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ-Q) has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with GKN Automotive. GKN will source renewable energy from Recurrent Energy's Rey I Project, a 115-megawatt-peak solar project in Seville, Spain.

Anaergia announces completion of strategic investment

Feds kick in $76M for York Region Transit electric buses

Stagecoach orders 41 electric buses from Alexander Dennis

Vanuatu launches citizenship-by-sustainable investment program

Unlike traditional citizenship-by-investment programs, Vanuatu's plan directly supports sustainable development. Investors make a mandatory contribution of $115,000 US, plus a fully redeemable $50,000 US investment, to develop Vanuatu's coconut oil sector and renewable energy production.

Montreal suburb requires businesses to use reusable tableware
