Hydro-Quebec selects 8 wind projects totalling 1,150MW
Following a call for tenders, Hydro-Quebec has chosen eight projects, mostly located in the southern part of the province. Boralex, Innergex and Kruger Énergie each had two projects accepted. Invernergy and Pattern Renewable Holdings Canada each had one project accepted.
Proposed Van. Island solar farm would power 20,000 homes
According to planning documents, Recurrent Energy is planning to construct a 235-hectare solar farm near Sooke, B.C., capable of providing energy for approximately 20,000 homes. The plant will generate up to 100 megawatts of renewable energy.
Questerre shares rally after Québec court ruling
Calgary-based Questerre Energy Corp. (QEC-T) says it supports a Québec Superior Court ruling on its application to halt provisions of Bill 21’s ending of petroleum exploration and production. Questerre shares were up more than 45 per cent early Friday.

Toronto courthouse project earns LEED Gold certification
EllisDon’s highrise courthouse project in downtown Toronto has achieved LEED Gold certification, the builder said. The project involved the construction of a 17-storey tower on a four-storey podium, with two underground levels, located north of Toronto’s City Hall.

Nova Bus secures order for up to 53 e-buses
Nova Bus, based in Saint-Eustache, Que., has been awarded a five-year contract for up to 53 e-buses by Regina, Sask. The first seven buses are scheduled to be delivered in 2025. Nova Bus is a member of the Volvo Group.
