Seneca College invests in sustainability goals

Seneca College has invested more than $500,000 in sustainable landscaping work at its Newnham campus as part of its wider Our Path Forward sustainability plan.

A merger between Bluesource and Element Markets, called TPG Rise Climate, will make the entity the largest creator and marketer of carbon credits and environmental credits in North America. No financial details were reported.

DHL has announced it will equip its fleet with 67 solar panels to reduce CO2 emissions by 1,000 kilograms per year for each vehicle. Expected to lower fuel and maintenance costs, the move will reduce all logistics-related emissions by 2050.

Worley, ABB, and IBM have combined forces to help energy companies build and operate green hydrogen facilities efficiently and at scale. Worley will provide engineering; ABB will provide offerings for electrical infrastructure; and, IBM will provide systems integration services.

California has become the first U.S. state to adopt a microplastics reduction policy. Created in response to its plastics pollution issue to improve its coastal and ocean health, the 37-page strategy will contain case studies, policy prescriptions, and monitoring methods.

Hasbro has announced that it will set both near-term and long-term science-based targets in 2030 and 2050, respectively. The company plans to eliminate virtually all plastic from new product packaging by the end of 2022.
